It keeps rising before me that nothing on Earth is the way it should be. Things on Earth may appear to be going fine, when anyone asks how things are, we reply on reflex, "Good!." But things are VERY broken. My mother is dying of diabetes. She has heart problems, and if she lives another year, it will be a miracle.
Thank God she is a christian, and we know, "Hell hath no terrors, and death hath no sting;" Why? Because the elect have been washed in the Redeemer's blood. We have been made alive, by the death of Christ and the quickening of the Spirit.

And we mourn for our dead, not like the heathens who have no hope, for we know our hope- our hope is in Him, and in that day, when "the saints triumphant rise in bright array".

One Day, Some Day

Condi Rice Will Testify Before 9/11 Commission

Thumbs up to the Bush administration for this decison.

THumbs down to the Bush administration for not making this decision 2 weeks ago.

Do Our Faults Reflect on Christ?

The bible tells us- "We all like sheep have gone astray."- "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". Jesus said "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"- knowing noone there was without sin.

Yet, we are forgiven in the blood of Jesus Christ. Charles Wesley wrote,

"DO some that own His sacred name,
indulge their souls in sin.
Jesus should not bear the blame,
His laws are just and pure."

With all due respect to Mr. Wesley- "Some that own..." We in the church are filthy, dirty sinners. It was once said that we ought to put on our doors- "First Baptist Spiritual Hospital." Isn't that what a church is? A group of believers loving one another in our faults, with the knowledge that one day, some day- He will heal all our faults, he will wipe every tear from our eyes. One day, Some Day- we will dwell with God, Christ, the Spirit, the Angels, and all the saints in glory. There there shall be no fear, no crying, no pain, no sadness, and no death.

Alleluia!

Slow News Day...

Just ask yourself, what does Condi Rice have to hide that she won't testify before the 9/11 commission. Some are even straight out of the hymnal. Today's is William How, written in 1864.

"Oh, blest communion, fellowship divine,
We feebly struggle, they in glory shine;
Yet all are one within thy grand design. (Originally: All are one in Thee, for all are Thine.)
Alleluia! Alleluia!"

This comes from the hymn "For All Thy Saints" Of How's 11 verses- this is the 6th.

We today in the church, have far too low a view of God's providence and plan for the universe. We think we are an island, sitting in our little buildings, doing what we do, with no thought given to the fact that for almost 2,000 years saints have come before us, and fought the fight, and though they lost their lives- they won the eternal crown-

Finally- How's 5th verse from the same hymn.

"For Martyrs, who with rapture kindled eye,
Saw the bright crown descending from the sky,
And seeing, grasped it, Thee we glorify.
Alleluia, Alleluia!"

Duke vs UConn, Georgia Tech vs Oklahoma State in Final Four

I'm convinced the Duke/UConn winner wins it all- and if Duke plays like they did against Xavier again- this will be a very boring Final Four.

In the Beginning...

Well, I should introduce my self. My name is Bradford Brown, I'm a senior, majoring in mathematics, at Georgia Southern University (Statesboro, GA). I'm a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church (PCA). I also love to travel, and I have some stories in that area to share in the coming weeks.

But first- there have been two recent big stories. Let's touch on them both briefly.

I can't get the 3-11 attacks in Madrid out of my mind. It seems to me, now that terrorism has, for the first time in our lifetimes, been pandered to, we in the United States must be more vigilant than ever. Prime Minister Anazar's Popular Party was thrown out of office after the 3-11 bombings, even through polls showed him winning only that Wednesday Might the US fall in the line of fire as the November elections approach? After all, Al-Qaeda is wounded, and a wounded tiger is the most dangerous type.

I was watching the 9-11 hearings this week. Were mistakes made? I believe there was information about 9-11 in the government's hands, but there was not procedure to put the pieces together. Was there an active ignoring of intel, in order to go after Iraq after 9-11? I find this VERY questionable.

tomorrow I have some personal stories to share.
